Conference hotels in Ho Chi Minh City – The allure of Vietnam

Before the unification of North and South Vietnam, the capital was officially known as Saigon. After the Vietnam War, however, it was renamed in honour of communist leader Ho Chi Minh. A building at the Reunification Palace today continues to tell of the division. The former home of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War was also considered to be the place where the end of the war was sealed. An imposing building that is definitely worth a sightseeing tour.

One of the worst proxy wars in history continues to leave its mark on Vietnam to this day. Outside the city, you can still visit the impressive tunnel system built by the South Vietnamese partisans belonging to the Vietcong liberation front. A few sections of the 250-km-long network of the impressive Cu Chi Tunnel have been preserved.

Since 1976, Ho Chi Minh City has transformed into a prosperous Southeast Asian metropolis, boasting many unique places and specialities to explore in addition to your conference or meeting. A typical coffee is a must. Coffee with condensed milk or even egg yolk? Give it a try – you’re sure to love it. Pham Ngu Lao Street in the city centre is home to many cafés, bars, and the city’s most famous hotels.

The culinary specialities, such as pho, can be sampled at the Ben Thanh Market, which is a great place to enjoy some street food in the evening after your meeting.

Experience the omnipresent mix of different cultures, such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Ho Chi Minh City. Completed in 1880, it is highly reminiscent of its counterpart in Paris. The city’s oldest religious building, however, is the Giac Lam Pagoda. The Buddhist temple consists of a seven-storey stupa, and, when completed in 1744, was the tallest tower in the city.
